Weeknotes 26

What happened

Not much. Start of the week I finally managed to join the Bladenight as a guard instead of just participating. It's fun getting to take over everyone when trying to reach the front, but its also very expausting having to sprint across the whole length. It's also kinda difficult to tell people 'Sorry I know you wanna go home, and it's right across the street but you'll have to wait another 25 minutes here before you're allowed to cross'. Well I guess that's how it is.

On Tuesday we visited the Ikom, which is just a job fair at my university. I don't know if I'm just young, stupid and naive, or if pretty much all of the jobs that were advertised seemed extremely mundane. I guess in half a year, I'm going to have to find out.

I went bouldering just once this week, but it feels like I'm making progress. Difficulty 5 is starting to seem doable.

Most of the time was spent on my master thesis, as always recently, but here too I feel like I'm starting to see progress.

Saturday we tried to partake in the google ctf. I think that one may be still a bit over my level. I spent the first have trying to reverse a flutter App, which I gave up after having 1600 of assembly to reverse. The later half we tried the 'puzzlepuzzle' challenge. That one was basically just playing shakashaka, but on a very large grid(roughly 17000x90000). I think I have a solution approach, but implementing would have taken more time, than I could spare, so maybe another day, maybe I'll even write about it.

Media

Finished watching Taxi Driver. Gotta be honest it's kinda fun seeing them beat up bad guys, but sometimes it's a bit extreme. And the whole underlying ethics discussion about vigilante justice that I felt like they teased in the first half, was dropped later, going so far as the main lawful justice person, Kang Ha-na, joining them in the end. Well what did I expect from a popular TV show.

30 Minutes with a stranger and The loneliness Epidemic yet again two great publication from The Pudding, you should check them out. These topics especially are close to me, as someone who is rather introverted and ofter avoids talking to other humans at all costs. Maybe I should make more of an effort to be outgoing. Maybe other people aren't as averse to conversation as it often seems.

Experimental june from Manuel Moreale, another very cool blogger, you should check out. This feels like another thing, I read about quite often. This detox from all the electronics, from the information I bombard myself with. It always feels like it would be too exhausting to actually do, but maybe one day, I'll have read enough people saying how great it is to finally do it myself. I just don't think today is that day.
